Cannabinoid profile or contaminant testing: ask the right question.

Plan questions about pesticides, metals, microbiology and other product-specific testing needs.

A test objective, not a blanket seal

Write down the decision the report should support: composition, purchasing, process control or a specific conformity question. A THC/CBD result does not automatically answer all of these. Include the product category and intended use in the request.

Agree specific parameters

Ask which individual substances or organism groups the proposed scope covers. For pesticides, request the actual analyte list; for metals, the elements; for microbiology, the groups, procedures and units. Extracts may raise additional process questions. This is an editorial question list, not a universal statutory testing schedule.

Do not import unrelated limits

Ask which assessment basis applies to the specific product and what reporting limits can be achieved. Do not copy a threshold table from another country or category. Resolve untested parameters and unexpected results before release. Swissmedic’s implementation guide distinguishes cannabinoid-containing product categories; a testing package does not replace classification.

Editorial guidance, not individual legal advice, laboratory services or product release. No review by an external laboratory is claimed.
